Did you know that if you don’t preserve your photos they will deteriorate and fade away and you can  lose those memories forever?

When I was a little girl, I remember happily playing outdoors with my friends, when I was called to come indoors, just to take a family photograph. Leaving my friends to take a photograph, at that time didn’t seem very important to me. Well we were a family of four generations living together in a large two-story house with a hugh backyard, located in Washington D.C. My dad, who was in the Air Force, knew we were preparing to leave the United States to live in the Philippine Islands for the next two years, so it was important to him to capture the memories of our family.

Photos truly capture moments in time, allowing us to reminisce about important events, people, and places in our lives. And that photo is still the only photo to this day, that my brother and I have of our four generational family. So, I continue telling this story.  I have preserved this photo through art, so that I can keep our stories and memories alive, which enables me to pass down them on to  my future family and friends. They can also experience a connection and hopefully have more of an understanding of who they are and where they come from.

As a photographic artist I have helped many clients to preserve their special memories, captured in their photographs, by bringing life to their damaged photos, so their stories too can continue to be told and passed on for future generations. This is a wonderful way of leaving behind a tangible legacy as they too share their life experiences, values, and lessons, that will contribute to their own preservation of family history and heritage.

So, today I encourage you to capture the important moments of your life, share your experiences with your family and friends. Every photo has a story, filled with memories of time that we can never get back, but with photographic art your memories and stories can live on for years and years to come. I encourage you… don’t let your stories fade away. Share them and pass them on because if you don’t, my question to you is, Who Will?
